Square Two

For my second solo piano recital, I was high: 24 floors in the sky at the rooftop lounge of the University of Pennsylvania's Harnwell high-rise.

The programme featured classical favourites such as two of Schubert's Impromptus and Prokofiev's Toccata. Also included was one of Liszt's most famous pieces from his suite Years of Pilgrimage, Sonetto 104 del Petrarca, which I felt was representative of my long journey away from home and, for the first time, away from my family, too.
